SEA Games + Thorb 11th Inter-JC Ultimate Championships!

Hello Ultimate Frisbee Players,

This weekend kicks off the 2015 SEA Games! It has finally returned to Singapore after a long wait of 22 years and what a spectacular Opening Ceremony it was!

With Ultimate being provisionally recognised as an Olympic sport, would we see ultimate coming into the SEA games in the near future? However, for this year look no further, as there is something that is happening that you do not need to wait for that future to come - The Thorb 11th Inter-JC Ultimate Championships!

This is the tournament that all junior college ultimate teams have been training for! it would determine who would be the best ultimate team for junior colleges! Last year a lot of awesome catches and throws from these spunky young players at the peak of their physical abilities!

On a side note, it was a really heartening scene to see as more junior college teams are now participating in this tournament! A few years ago, there were very little junior college ultimate teams. Most teams were only playing casually and did not have the resources to play competitively. However, in recent years, there are more and more teams that are up and coming!

These are the teams that will be participating in the 11th edition of the tournament!

1) Anderson Junior College 2) Anglo Chinese Junior College 3) Anglo Chinese School (Independent) 4) Catholic Junior College 5) Dunman High School 6) Hwa Chong Institution (College Section) 7) Innova Junior College 8) National University of Singapore (High School) 9) Pioneer Junior College 10) Raffles Junior College 11) River Valley High School 12) Saint Andrew’s Junior College 13) Serangoon Junior College

That are 13 team participating, a far cry from the 5-7 teams in the previous edition of the tournament! I have seen teams like Hwa Chong and Catholic JC training really hard at the Farrer Park fields and I was not disappointed as the results for the first day of the tournament is up!
