Christmas Gift Suggestions for Frisbee Players!
Hello Ultimate Frisbee Players!
Christmas is around the corner! (or to be exact, in 2 more days!) For those who have trouble thinking about what gifts to give your ultimate friend, here are some of the top few suggestions on the type of gifts you can give them, putting an end to all your present woes!
1) Caps
We are often want to keep our faces from the sun, or we would face the painful consequences of sunburn later. Caps would come in really handy during games as well as it may reduce the glare from the sun to allow players to focus. Do take note that mesh caps, or trucker caps, would be more suitable form ultimate players as it dissipates heat away quickly and prevent any absorption of sweat. Available at Daiso, sporting outlets etc.
2) Tumbler
Frisbee players are water guzzlers, as ultimate trainings and torunaments demand a lot from frisbee players physically. We literally down litres of waters while playing Ultimate! Hence, tumblers are practically our life savers as the training and tournaments carry on! In addition, some tumblers serve as a good portable seat for players to sit down and spectate games! You can get them from Cold Storage, Giant etc, starting from 30$ plus onwards. Look out for brands such as Nalgene, Camelbak.
3) Gloves
Gloves are currently become a popular part of an Ultimate player's equipment as it improves grip and possibly throws due to the traction these gloves provide. However, these are very uncommon in Singapore. This means shipping costs so do take note!
4) Waterproof bags
Frisbee players often play at fields, distance away from any shelter. Hence, things might go awry when it starts to rain. Our belongings, especially electronic ones, would be under the mercy of the rain. Hence, a waterproof bag would do great for them to weather against such unexpected weather.
There are readily available at Isetan, Army Market and Zinc, starting from 30$ onwards.
5) Portable Stool
As mentioned before, Ultimate training and tournaments are often held on large fields. Hence, there is usually no place to sit on except the ground. This could be a problem if the field is muddy. Hence, the portable stool would allow players to set up a seat wherever and whenever they want! Available at Daiso or the Army market at Beach Road.
6) Lacrosse ball and Foam Roller
As Frisbee players, we would often having aches and strains in our muscles after long days of training and competing. A foam roller and lacross ball would fit well in our stretching regime to ease our sore muscles! They are available at Ultyshop and sport outlets!
7) Discs
Last but not least, discs! We always need disc, be it to practise throws or to have a leisure throw at the park. Do buy the discs from the local clubs and Ultyshop as discs outside cost a lot more than what is provided by the latter.
Hope that this gives you a general idea of what might be suitable as Christmas gifts for your Ultimate friend! Hope that you all have a wonderful time during Christmas (and keep off excessive eating as the Ultimate season is COMING!)
