Yes! Today I am going to stop about LAYOUTS! A layout is done when a player lunges off his or her feet to go for a bid, be it to catch a disc or to intercept your opponent's disc! A layout bid is one of the most exhilirating move that would make a crowd go ballistic, be it a catch or a D. Here are some of this epic layouts captured on video!

Here are some important tips on doing the layout bid that would change the game!

1) Arms fully Extended towards the disc

It is important to fully extend your arms when you layout, because 1) it would give you more reach towards the disc, and 2) if your arms are locked while doing this as you contact the ground, it is gonna be pretty painful and dislocation might occur around the shoulders.

2) Be AWARE of the Game

A layout is a double-edged sword. A layout could be extremely pivotal as it could give the game away or change the game to your favour. An instance is Dylan Freechild of Rhino, executing a vital layout D to deny Doublewide a win during universal point.

Hence, you have to be aware of what is going on to see if laying out is important, as you are out of your position when you layout which could give way to an easy score so do take note!

3) No Hesitation

If you see an opportunity to layout, do not hesitate and execute it! Mistiming your layout would result in injuires (which I am going to talk about which week) or make you miss the disc entirely. A sweet layout or an embarrassing and painful fall differs by a thin line.

4) Proper Technique

It is important to take note of the proper technique when executing a layout. This is because wrong techniques may result in injuries that could keep you sidelined for months, and you wouldn't want this to happen, when the new season is around the corner! Here are some videos on how to properly layout for the disc.

Alright! Hope that this helps you to understand more about the layouts and execute in a real game to excite both the players and the crowd alike!
