SuNiG 2014 Ultimate Frisbee!

On 30th and 31st August 2014, Ultimate frisbee players from 6 Singapore Universities - NUS NTU, SIM, SIT, SMU and SUTD, came together to fight out who would be the champions of Ultimate Frisbee among the universities! Will SMU retain their title? or will their fierce rivals NUS/SIM/NTU outlast and outperform them to take the championship title?! I was there in NTU to witness this titanic clash!

Played over a series of games, the universities' position was determined similar to the fate of the soccer teams playing in the EPL where points are allocated for each win and goal difference would determine who will come on top! I was there and witnessed many young talents in various universities! Layout Ds, Layout catches, Hucks, anything that is considered epic/awesome in Ultimate Frisbee were all witnessed during the matches!

After two days of competition, SMU emerged victorious among the universities. Their quick and fluid offense, unrelenting defense paid off as they managed to win all the matches against all the universities!, making them the champions again for 2 years running! What a record! Can they defend their title yet again? Till the next SuNiG in 2015!
